Install Grabby in about a minute
Grabby is finishing review for the Chrome Web Store. Until it lands there, you can install the very same build manually — six small steps, no terminal, no build tools.
Download grabby-extension-v0.1.0.zip83 KB · Chrome 116+
Download the extension
Grab the zip below. It's the exact same build we're submitting to the Chrome Web Store — installing it manually just skips the store while we're in beta.
Unzip it somewhere permanent
Double-click the zip to extract the
grabbyfolder. Chrome runs the extension from this folder, so put it somewhere it can stay — Documents works great. (If you delete the folder later, the extension stops working.)Open the extensions page
Type
chrome://extensionsinto Chrome's address bar and press Enter. (Chrome doesn't allow websites to link there directly — you have to type it.)Turn on Developer mode
Flip the “Developer mode” toggle in the top-right corner of the extensions page.
Load unpacked
Click the Load unpacked button that appeared, and select the folder you unzipped in step 2.
Pin it and grab something
Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin Grabby. Then visit any site and click the Grabby icon — or press
Alt·Shift·G— and click the component you want.
# good to know
- Chrome may show a “disable developer mode extensions” reminder after a restart — that's normal for manually installed extensions and disappears once Grabby is installed from the Web Store.
- Manual installs don't auto-update. When we ship a new version, this page gets the new zip — replace the folder's contents and hit the reload icon on
chrome://extensions. - Once Grabby is live on the Chrome Web Store, this page will point there instead.
